Parts & Service:  Tire monitoring tool

Stemco has announced the AirBat SD (severe duty) tire-pressure monitoring sensor as a new addition to its Bat RF product line. The AirBat SD is designed for demanding applications such as transit and refuse hauling where high temperatures are produced by the stop-and-go nature of the duty cycle, according to the company.

AirBat SD provides a visual indicator on the wheel end that identifies under-inflated tires. It can also be used with wireless Bat RF products such as the AirBat RF DAS, a handheld reader, an automated gate reader, or an integration model that interfaces with satellite-based information systems.

All modes of communication can utilize the company’s WebBat software, which allows a fleet to monitor each piece of equipment. Reports enable the user to determine which equipment needs attention.

According to the company, all tire pressure monitoring sensors can be configured to various low pressure thresholds and can be retrofitted to existing vehicles in as little as ten minutes.
