Parts & Service: Real time control of refrigeration
A real-time, two-way communication and control unit for refrigeration monitoring has been released by CarrierWeb. ReeferMate provides visibility to fleet managers so they can monitor, manage and control all refrigeration assets from anywhere, the company said.
The system interfaces directly with the microprocessor controllers of major manufacturers’ refrigeration units and is built with weatherproof components. Mounted in the cowling of the compartment, the unit is always on and powered through the refrigeration unit’s power source or 7-way plug.
“Our customers are always looking to increase operating efficiencies and the CarrierWeb ReeferMate offering is an important tool to help them quickly achieve those business objectives,” said John Marous, president & CEO. “Our Always-On technology has been adopted by fleet owners who recognize that tracking, monitoring and communication technology is a key component in making better business decisions, protecting assets and cargo, and producing visible results to improve the bottom line.”
ReeferMate provides the monitor and control of status, operating state, temperatures, alarms and alarm disposition clearing, power and battery status, and fuel level.
Exception event information is reported in real-time and includes on-time status and fuel changes to operations, route deviations to safety, and financial parameters to upper management. The company said all information can be integrated into a fleet’s internal operations system in addition to being available on CarrierWeb’s web site.
