Parts & Service:  Improving fuel efficiency

NAFA Fleet Management Assn, a nonprofit professional organization for fleets and fleet managers, has released its Fuel Management Guide. Fleets looking to anticipate fuel price changes or trying to identify policies, activities and technologies that will improve fuel efficiency will find this guide to be very useful.

Addressed are issues and technologies related to alternative and conventional fuels within the context of both centralized and decentralized fleets. Topics covered include petroleum markets, fuel supply chain, fuel quality standards and fuel-saving methods, and hybrid drivetrains.

Links to relevant web sites are listed. The Fuel Management Guide is available as a  soft-cover book, a CD or as an e-download.

“Whether you manage an in-house fuel program or a commercial fuel program, whether your fleet is centralized or decentralized, NAFA’s Fuel Management Guide will help you gain a better understanding of your second largest fleet vehicle expense,” said NAFA executive director Phillip E. Russo, CAE.
